Description
Catholic Knights of America, Frankford Branch No. 83 Member's Badge With a Beautiful R. E. Lee Portrait Badge. The black silk ribbon measures 2" x 6.5" (to the end of the gold fringe). The ribbon is lettered in silver "C. K. of A. / Frankford / Kentucky". Attached to the ribbon is a gilt hanger with a celluloid insert reading "Frankford Branch No. 83" from which is suspended another celluloid bar reading "Member". Suspended by links to the last drop is an ornate gilt frame containing a handsome celluloid portrait button of Robert E. Lee in uniform. The badge and ribbon bear Whitehead and Hoag, Newark, New Jersey makers labels. The Catholic Knights of America was an American Roman Catholic fraternal organization which existed from 1877 to 2005.Auction Info
