Description

[Revolutionary War]. George Washington Document Signed. "Go: Washington". Two pages, 8" x 13", period docketed on the verso, Headquarters of the American Army, June 8, 1783. Military discharge papers, recognizing the end of five years of service of Morris Mingus, signed by Washington after the fighting was over, but months before the Treaty of Paris, which was the official end of the American Revolution.

Condition: Document has been silked on verso at an earlier time, to restore multiple separations at folds. Scattered foxing, with spots of staining, slight fading to the ink, and chipped edges. Pinholes of loss at several spots along the folds.
