Description
Abraham Lincoln: A Large and Particularly Desirable Variety of 1864 Lincoln Campaign Ribbon. Measuring nearly 4" x 8.25", this rare silk ribbon makes quite a statement. The listing of Grant, Sherman, and Sheraton as "Peace Commissioners" is of course intentionally ironic, as these three generals were inflicting the heaviest punishment on the collapsing Confederacy. This is a fine, full-sized example, with complete original selvage across top and bottom edges. The very slightest of "aging" is noted for strict accuracy, but by any standards this is an excellent example.Auction Info
