Description

Abraham Lincoln: A Large and Particularly Desirable Variety of 1864 Lincoln Campaign Ribbon. Measuring nearly 4" x 8.25", this rare silk ribbon makes quite a statement. The listing of Grant, Sherman, and Sheraton as "Peace Commissioners" is of course intentionally ironic, as these three generals were inflicting the heaviest punishment on the collapsing Confederacy. This is a fine, full-sized example, with complete original selvage across top and bottom edges. The very slightest of "aging" is noted for strict accuracy, but by any standards this is an excellent example.
