Description
Most Rare, Only Example We've Ever Seen, Pair of Chevrons for Band Sergeant/ Drum Major. Although not having a precedent to date them we would place them in the 1860 - 1875 period. 10 1/4" high and wide. Stripes of 1/2" gold bullion tape, on dark blue/black wool background. The crossed Drum Major's batons in the center also of gold bullion, backed with brown polished cotton/gauze. Bullion stripes show some minor honest wear, but overall near perfect with no mothing.
