John Quincy Adams: "John Q. Adams, President of the United States", Circa 1826. 14" x 18", by Thomas Gimbrede. This stipple and line engraving of John Quincy Adams was executed while Adams was president. The eagle, lyre, and star symbols that appear in the background were adopted by Adams for his personal seal as representative of the United States. Dark, but evenly toned, else very fine.Auction Info
