Robert Peary Typed Letter Signed "Peary." One page on Eagle Island letterhead, 8" x 10.5", South Harpswell, Maine, October 23, 1912, to William S. Waudby, Washington, D.C. Peary favors Waudby with an autograph "A little later I may be able to locate and send you a really Arctic postal card." Robert Peary (1856-1920) was an American explorer best known for his many arctic expeditions in the latter 19th and early 20th century. He claimed to have reached the geographic North Pole on April 6, 1909 but this has been disputed over the years.

Condition: With old smoothed fold creases. Light uniform toning and a few scattered stains.
