Schuyler Hamilton Signed Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4", standing three-quarter length portrait in his Union uniform, with a Brady, New York backstamp on verso. Signed below the image: "Schuyler Hamilton Maj Genl Vols U.S.A."

Schuyler Hamilton (1822-1903) was a grandson of Alexander Hamilton who was twice-wounded in the Mexican War, where he was aide-de-camp to Winfield Scott. During the Civil War, Hamilton fought at New Madrid, Island No. 10 and Corinth before being forced to resign due to illness.

Condition: Light soiling to the edges and light wear to the corners. Pencil notations on verso.
