One of history's most revered composers, Brahms (1833 - 1897) produced music throughout the mid-Romantic period. The composer rose to fame in 1876 when he premiered his first symphony in Karlsruhe. Contemporary fans now categorize him as one of the "Three B's," alongside Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven.
