[Revolutionary War]. Subsistence Accounting Document for the 2nd Battalion of the 71st Regiment of the British Army. One page, 7 1/4 x 9 inches, no place; December 25, 1780-February 23, 1781. A manuscript document recording the accounting of the 2nd Battalion of the 71st Regiment of the British Army, consisting of forty sergeants, forty corporals, twenty-two drummers and pipers, and five-hundred privates. Signed, "Alex Sutherland, Cap't Comm G. 2'd 71st Reg't."

Fraser's Highlanders, officially the 71st Regiment of Foot, was a British Army regiment raised in Scotland in 1775 for service in the American Revolutionary War. Between 1780 and 1781, the regiment was actively engaged in several key battles, including the Siege of Charleston, the Battle of Camden, and the Battle of Cowpens. In March 1780, they participated in the Siege of Charleston, leading to the city's surrender. Following this, the regiment fought at the Battle of Camden in August 1780, securing a significant British victory.

Condition: Slightly toned. Light stain near the bottom in the center. Faint pencil notation in the upper left corner. Miniscule notation in red ink on the verso.
