Description

[Glenn Ford]. Circa 1955 Olivetti Ivera Portable from Italy (Serial Number 739940). 12" (L) x 13" (W) x 3 1/2" (H). Black ribbon. Normal wear from use.

Actor Glenn Ford starred in many of the most charming films of mid-century America, including A Pocketful of Miracles with Bette Davis for which he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in 1962. A copy of the film is included in this lot. For 30 years, Ford remained one of the top box office draws for films such as Blackboard Jungle and The Big Heat.

The machine featured here served as the movie star's personal travel typewriter and is accompanied by a travel case with his name embossed on it. The typewriter joined The Collection via Ford's estate sale. Accompanied by additional ephemera.
