George W. J. De Renne's copy of an early sermon calling for establishing a colony in Georgia

Dr. Bray; at their Anniversary Meeting, March 17, 1736-7. London: Printed for W. Meadows, 1737. Small 4to. 16 pages. 19th century full leather binding with gilt title. Marbled endpapers with bookplate of noted bibliophile George W. J. De Renne on front pastedown. Bound with fifteen sheets at back containing a manuscript fair copy of The Notice of the Anniversary Meeting of the Trustees for Establishing the Colony of Georgia. 21 March, 1744, transcribed in 1908 in an unknown hand. The handwritten manuscript takes up only a portion of those pages, the rest remain blank. De Renne was known for his collection of more than 1300 volumes largely pertaining to the history of Georgia. With previous collector's ownership signature on the front endpaper in pencil.

Condition: Light rubbing to spine and bumped corners. Light scratches to front cover. With soiling throughout, more so to the title page. Light foxing and offsetting. Small corner loss at bottom of page 15-16.
