H. G. Wells. The Food of the Gods: And How It Came to Earth. London: Macmillan and Co., 1904.8vo. 18-page publisher's catalogue inserted at the rear dated 20.7.04. Publisher's sage green cloth, lettered in gilt across the spine and front cover with fruit pattern stamped in blind to the front cover; gilt-lettered spine panel.
FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING IN BOOK FORM, having been printed serially in Pearson's Magazine (Dec. 1903 - June 1904).
Condition: Edgewear to boards, including spine ends and corners; spine a bit toned and rubbed; text-block and fore-edge slightly tender; intermittent foxing to the interior and fore edges.
