E. B. White. A group of 4 typed letters signed to various recipients concerning legal and literary matters, 1954-1968.

Comprising:

One typed letter signed to publisher Donald Friede, 7 December 1954. One page, 6 1/2 x 7 in., on New Yorker letterhead. thanking him for sending proofs of "Kip's" book but declining a request for a quote: "It is out of the question, as you can see by simply reading the book."

One typed letter signed to literary agent Mrs. Franz J. Horch, 10 July 1956. One page, 7 1/8 x 7 inches, on New Yorker letterhead. Regarding an inquiry from Bodley Head Books, and wanting to wait for his legal counsel at The New Yorker, Milton Greenstein, to return from vacation before replying. With holographic addition: "addressed to Mr. G."

Two typed letters signed to literary agent Roslyn Targ (and wife of editor/publisher William Targ), both dated 10 August, 1968. Each one page, small 8vo (7 1/4 x 4 1/2 in.), on New Yorker letterhead. Both regarding the contract for the Italian rights for Is Sex Necessary, one asking her to send a copy to Milton Greenstein at The New Yorker.

Condition: Some offset toning to the 7 December and 10 July letters, these also appear trimmed at bottom, creased at folds.
