One of Greene's most well-known works, meaningfully (and humorously) inscribed to his secretary just before her departure

FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY GREENE TO HIS SECRETARY on the front free endpaper: "For D.R.Y. / from Graham Greene / in sadness that this is your last / headache."
"D.R.Y.," are the initials of Doris Young, who served as Greene's secretary from the early 1950s until her departure in 1958. She came to Greene from politician Henry Walston, whose wife, Catherine Crompton, was Greene's mistress.
Condition: Mild, scattered foxing. Dust jacket unclipped (15s), rear jacket panel toned, a few short tears and other edgewear, some soiling.
