Boston: Arena Publishing Company, 1891. 8vo, original gray cloth, spine lettered and decorated in silver. FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper: "To Sylvester Baxter from / A fellow truth seeker in art - fraternally, / Hamlin Garland." Baxter was a Massachusetts author who published his book The Cruise of a Land-Yacht the same year. Spine a little faded and rubbed, a few faint stains on rear cover; text evenly toned, some foxing to title and occasionally throughout, text block over-opened at center. - Garland. A Son of the Middle Border. New York: The Macmillan Company, 1917. 8vo, illustrated, original olive cloth, lettered and decorated in blue and gilt on upper cover and spine. FIRST EDITION, LIMITED ISSUE ("Special Autographed Edition"), SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on the half-title. Touch of edgewear; else, fine. - Garland. A Daughter of the Middle Border. New York: The Macmillan Company, 1921. 8vo, original pictorial black cloth, stamped in red and gilt. FIRST EDITION. Minor rubbing to extremities; lower text block corners a little bumped, rear hinge tender.
