Some soiling to cloth, otherwise internally fine. - Forester. The Ship. London: Michael Joseph Ltd., [1943]. 8vo, original brown cloth, spine stamped in silver; dust jacket. FIRST EDITION. Some very minor fading/rubbing to cloth; dust jacket price-clipped, small hole on lower front panel near spine, minor wear at edges, lightly soiled. - Forester. The Bedchamber Mystery. Toronto: S. J. Reginald Saunders, [1944]. 8vo, original pictorial boards printed in gray, yellow and blue; dust jacket (unclipped). FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper: "Fitzhugh Lee / with gratitude for very much kindness, from / C. S. Forester. / Pearl Harbor Oct 1945." Fitzhugh Lee III was a vice admiral in the United States Navy, who presumably met Forester while he was working in the United States for the British Ministry during the Second World War. Spine slightly leaned, minor soiling to boards, extremities lightly rubbed; dust jacket with some edgewear with a few nicks or short tears, a few small tape reinforcements on verso, a little soiled. - Forester. Lord Hornblower. London: Michael Joseph Ltd., [1946]. 8vo, original brown cloth, spine stamped in silver; dust jacket. FIRST EDITION. Dust jacket price-clipped, with minor wear to extremities, closed tear on front flap, some soiling.
