FIRST EDITION of the author's first book. "The first collection by one of the great English writers of supernatural fiction" (Barron).

Condition: Minor rubbing to extremities; a few minor bumps; very minor rubbing or soiling to rear cover; some light foxing to text block edges; front hinge just starting; endpapers lightly discolored. Some light foxing to title and preliminaries (and occasionally mostly marginal within). Overall, a bright copy of a very scarce book.
