[American Revolution]: Bunker Hill Monument Association Broadside. 18.5" x 22" letterpress broadside, dated June 17, 1824, titled "Bunker Hill Monument Association". It contains an address or speech detailing the goals of the group which included Daniel Webster and Edward Everett among its leaders. Anyone could become a member by contributing $5. The association was founded in 1823. The cornerstone was laid on June 17, 1825, the capstone on July 23, 1842 and the dedication took place on June 17, 1843, highlighted by a speech by Webster. This example is endorsed by its owner, the Rev. Luther Hamilton of Taunton, Massachusetts. Partial separation at folds with some chipping and loss.
