Boston Chronicle (MA) Sept 26, 1768: Great Britain Sending Military Forces to Boston. Colonial American newspaper contains an inside page long detailed report of Great Britain sending military forces to Boston in order to control protests in the American Colonies against the British Townsend taxes. These troops would later bring Boston "to a boil" and they would be involved in the Boston Massacre of 1770, an event that would lead to the American Revolutionary War.
