John F. Kennedy: Presidential China Plate From JFK's Aircraft "Caroline". A scarce 8.25" plate used on John F. Kennedy's Convair 240 plane ''Caroline'', the plane credited with giving JFK the narrow margin of victory in the 1960 Presidential election by allowing him to quickly move about the country. Plate by Noritake China of Japan was given to President Kennedy by Japanese emissaries on 19 June 1961, as documented by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. Plate has the Presidential seal in gilt at top, surrounded by 13 silver stars. Plate is encircled in silver around rim. With Noritake China stamp to underside. Accompanied by an LOA from John Lobota, Jr., whose father worked at Butler Aviation on behalf of the Caroline and President Kennedy, and was given the plate.
