Description
William Seward et al: Three "Hard Times" Tokens. (1) CE-1834-4, 28mm, brass. "Gulian. C. Verplanck" is featured at the center of the obverse with the additional text "Our. Next. Govnr." The reverse bears an eagle and the text "A Faithful Friend. To Our Country." (2) CE-1834-5, 28mm, brass. Very similar to CE-1834-4, but featuring a portrait of "William H. Seward."Condition: All exhibit expected wear and tarnish. CE-1834-4 has some minor spotting in the left field and on Verplanck's portrait. CE-1834-5 has portions of text and image affected by wear. Overall, these are in good condition.
