[Samuel Clemens] Mark Twain: Group of Mark Twain Hotel China. Set of ten Mark Twain cream and red china manufactured by Syracuse China for his Chicago hotel, featuring a cameo style portrait of Twain. Included are three 3 7/8" diameter cups, three 5 1/4" diameter saucers, and four 9" diameter dinner plates. All have production codes on the base dating them between February 1949 and May 1956. Also included is a 11" diameter Mark Twain cream, blue, brown, and gilt china dinner plate manufactured by Lamberton Scammell exclusively for Mark Twain and the Claridge Hotel in St. Louis, and features a soft-focus sepia portrait of Twain. Although not dated, the Mark Twain Hotel was only a part of the Claridge Hotel from 1928 to about 1933.

Condition: All in overall good to very good condition, showing general usage wear with no signs of chips, cracks, or repairs.
