Lyndon B. Johnson Trademark Resistol Western Felt Hat Presented to Gregory Peck in May 1968 with COA. Tan felt "Open Road" hat made by Resistol with brown leather sweatband and cream-colored silk lining. The sweatband is stamped "The Lone Star" XXXXXXX Beaver, Made in Texas" and "Designed by Harry Rolnick for President Lyndon B. Johnson" with gold colored Texas on the lining that reads "Johnson City LBJ Ranch." President Johnson presented this hat to Gregory Peck when he and his wife visited Johnson's ranch in May, 1968. Mr. Peck can be seen wearing this hat in photographs of the visit as well as video footage of the two men together standing in the wildflowers. The President kept a supply of these hats on his ranch and would give them away to guests. Accompanied by the original Resistol tan leather silk-lined hat box measuring 19" x 17.75" x 8.5". The item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Heritage Auctions stating the hat is from "The Estate of Veronique and Gregory Peck". The certificate is signed in marker in lower right corner "V Peck". This hat was sold in the Gregory Peck estate sale held by Heritage Auctions on February 23, 2023 where it realized $11,250.

Condition: The hat is in very fine condition with only a trace of gentle handling. The hat box shows some scuffs, light scratches, and small dent/indentation on one of side.
