Description
George Washington: Rare Etching After Painting by Charles Wilson Peale. 6" x 8 1/2" etching framed to an overall size of 8" x 10 1/2", C. 1783-1786. The piece is titled "Le Général Washington, Commendant en Chef des Amées Americaines, né en Virginie en 1733". A beautifully executed engraving, and quite rare as it dates to Washington's life. The only other example we could source is at the The Met in New York City.Condition: Excellent.
