Description
Abraham Lincoln: Breath Mint Container. 1.5" silvered brass pill box with bust of "Abraham Lincoln" on the lid. The bottom of the box reads: "Superior Cachou & Cardamom Aromatise For Correcting Breath". Silvering all worn away except for interior. We have seen other examples that depict Buchanan, so believe this was issued while Lincoln was still President. An early example of gratuitous product endorsements without approval by the President.
