8vo. Publisher's black cloth, spine stamped in gilt; original illustrated dust jacket; quarter morocco folding case.

FIRST EDITION, in the first state dust jacket, with the author's black and white photo credited to Lotte Jacobi on the rear panel and the dollar sign above the shoulder of the letter "R" in "Catcher" on front flap.

Condition: Small abrasion along top edge of front board; slight discoloration at endpaper gutters. Unclipped dust jacket with spine panel a little toned and stained and with a little restoration at ends; some repairs/reinforcements to spine and flap folds and upper edge of front panel with some color retouched; small loss on upper edge of front panel; rear panel rubbed at edges.
