Description

Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln: Tintypes on Paper Mount. Facing gem tintypes of Mary Todd and Abraham Lincoln on a paper CDV mount, formatted to appear as if part of a photograph album. Mary's image was likely taken in 1862, after the death of Willie. The President's image was taken on February 9, 1864. Two clipped corners at top restored. Minor bubbling of the emulsion on each image, concentrated on the outer edges and of little consequence.
