Robert T. McCall: Collection of Six Original Signed Sketches on Space First Day Covers. A fine collection of seven signed items, six of which contain original artwork, from the dean of modern space artists. As follows: (1) A Postal Commemorative Society FDC for the "Probing the Planets" stamp (Scott #1916) with a sketch reminiscent of the Apollo 11 insignia, slight creases and corner dings; (2) A Postal Commemorative Society FDC for the "Benefiting Mankind" Shuttle Jettison of Boosters stamp (Scott #1913) with a sketch of a shuttle launch, light bends at the edges; (3) An FDC with a color HF cachet for the block of four "Benefiting Mankind" stamps (Scott #1913-14, 17-18) with a shuttle launch sketch; (4) A Kennedy Space Center Philatelic Society FDC for the "Benefiting Mankind" Shuttle Liftoff stamp (Scott #1917) with a desert scene sketch; (5) A Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center Stamp Club Official FDC for the "Understanding the Sun" Skylab stamp (Scott #1915) with a simple outer space sketch; (6) An FDC with Artopages color cachet for the "Comprehending the Universe" Space Telescope stamp (Scott #1919) with a spaceship sketch; and (7) a McCall Studios business card signed on the verso. All of these covers are unaddressed, signed "Robert T. McCall" and are in excellent, as new condition (except as noted).
