Theodore Roosevelt military appointment signed ("Theodore Roosevelt") as President. Washington: December 26, 1901.Engraved document on vellum with blue wafer seal. Matted and framed to an overall 18.75"x 23.75", not examined outside of frame. Appointment of "Francis W. Mansfield" as "Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry", backdated November 11, 1901, signed "Theodore Roosevelt" as President. Countersigned by Elihu Root as Secretary of War.
Condition: ink notation to the top margin; creased along old folds; usual wrinkling; frame with some minor wear.
