[Civil War Era]. Memorial Shadowbox in honor of William D. Nevius, lost in the Battle of Shiloh.
Shadowbox frame measuring 9"x 9". Not examined outside of frame. Containing one photograph of Nevius in uniform and holding a rifle, one photograph of a manuscript note detailing Nevius' death in action, and a printed paper label which reads, "William D. Nevius / Company E. 9th Illinois Infantry / 'Lost in Battle at Shiloh April 6th, 1862.' / A Farmboy from Ohio Grove, Mercer County, Illinois / Born ca. 1841 & KIA [Killed in Action] Shiloh 1862."

Condition: minor edgewear to photographs, with minor paper loss; frame with minor edgewear.
