Description

State of Maine Militia/National Guard Frock Coat, Circa Late 19th Century or Early 20th Century.

Double-breasted, blue wool frock coat with two rows of 9 state of Maine buttons (four lacking on the right side). Buttons maker marked Waterbury Button Co. No epaulettes though the shoulder loops are present. 1-inch tall collar. Un-hemmed at the lower edge. Padded front with white cotton lining and two inner pockets. The Austrian knot sleeve trim has been removed from both arms.

Condition: Moderate to heavy mothing with scattered larger holes; lining frayed. Fair condition.
