Description

U.S. Colt Model New Service Double Action Revolver.
Serial no 238712, .45 caliber, 5 ½-inch barrel with standard address ending with 1905 patent date. Left side of barrel with: COLT D.A.45. Blued finish. Varnished walnut grips. Left side of frame with [eagle]/S20 just above cylinder release. Rampant Colt below. Under the barrel is stamped: "UNITED STATES PROPERTY." Butt is marked: U.S./ARMY/MODEL 1917/NO./82/430. Lanyard ring present. Manufactured 1919.

Condition: Fair. Retaining approximately 15-20% blue, the balance having faded to a gray-brown patina. Multiple small dents or tool marks on frame. Grips good showing light wear and dents. Just traces of varnish but no loses. Bore very good with fine pitting. Barrel a possible replacement. Action very crisp.
