Engraved Ideal Brevette Double Barrel Shotgun.
Serial no. 320, 12 gauge, 27 1/2-inch barrels with front bead sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Right side of barrel marked: MANUFACTURE FRANSAICE D'ARMES ET CYCLES DE ST. ETIENNE, left side marked: FUSIL IDEAL BREVETTE DANS TOUS LES PAVS. Elaborately scroll engraved receiver, upper tang and triggerguard. Dual triggers. Checkered walnut pistolgrip stock and splinter fore-end. Grooved hard rubber buttplate. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 6806 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.

Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 70-80% of a dulling finish, with scattered signs of wear, thin spots and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bores.
