U.S. Paratrooper Statuette Presented to Vice Admiral D. C. Plate From the Officers and Men of the XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, November 2, 1972.

8-inch tall gilt-metal paratrooper in full jump configuration mounted to 1 ¾-inch tall wooden base with engraved brass plaque: "VADM D. C. PLATE / FROM LTG J. H. HAY / AND THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF / XVIII AIRBORNE CORPS AND FORT BRAGG / 2 NOVEMBER 1972". Douglas C. Plate (1920-2020) had a distinguished Naval career serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during WWII. He retired in 1975.
