Victorian-Era British Army Belt Plates and Ninth Plate Ambrotype of a Scottish Highlander.
The lot includes: 1) Ninth plate tinted Ambrotype of a uniformed, unidentified Scottish Highlander in a leather-covered case with gilt floral designs and mother-of-pearl inlays on the lid. 2) Royal Artillery shoulder belt plate, 3 ¼-inches by 2 ½-inches, complete with mounting lugs and tongue. 3) Large pewter badge bearing the Latin inscription "Honi soit qui mal y pense". Measures 3-inches x 4 ½-inches. 4) Unidentified Infantry shoulder belt plate, 2 ¼-inches x 3-inches. Complete with mounts on the reverse. 5) 48th Northamptonshire Regiment of Foot shoulder belt plate. Brass, measuring 2-inches by 2 ½-inches. Complete with mounts on the reverse.
