Description
U.S. Navy Remington 1879 Bolt Action Rifle.Serial no. 52488, .45-70 caliber, 32 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued finish. Top of breech marked: U.S.N. / (anchor) / NO. 2984 . H.H.E. Smooth walnut full-body stock. Two sling swivels, stacking swivel and leather shoulder sling. Metal ramrod and carbine butt.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered dings, scuffs and bruising to wood. Normal age and storage wear to leather. Action good. Strong bore.
