Description

Mughal-Style Silver Inlaid Damascene Dagger, 20th Century.

An impressive 8 1/2-inch slightly curved raindrop-pattern modern Damascus blade, its surface enriched on one side with a silver-inlaid monogram emblem. The grip concludes in a finely modeled leopard's head pommel, while the hilt fittings are richly finished in silver koftgari work. Both the grip and scabbard are decorated en suite, the latter culminating in another leopard's head at its terminal. The scabbard continues the intricate floral motif, completing a lavish and unified display of craftsmanship. Overall length is 15-inches.

Condition: Fine to excellent. Minor wear throughout, some toning and tarnish present overall. Wear appears to be from handling and storage. A nice example of a modern dagger.
