U.S. Springfield 1863 Percussion Musket.

Unserialized, .58 caliber, 40-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Blued lock marked: 1863, (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Case-hardened hammer. Smooth walnut straight stock with three barrel bands, each stamped with a U. Two sling swivels and vinyl shoulder sling. Metal ramrod and U.S. stamped carbine butt.

Condition: Good as partially refinished and configured. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with signs of handling wear, age and pitting. Replacement sling swivel at triggerguard. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Noticeable cracks and repairs near lock and wrist. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
