Description
C.S. Pettengill Army Model Double Action Revolver.Serial no. 3087 [cylinder and butt], .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Hammerless. Top of frame marked: PETTEGILL'S / PATENT 1856 / RAYMOND & ROBITAILLE / PATENTED 1858. Smooth walnut grip panels. WW stamped to cylinder. WP marked to left side of barrel and frame. Faint cartouche near base of left grip panel.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Action crisp. Lightly pitted bore.
