Description
A Clip Point Bowie Knife Stamped Woodhead and Hartley.14 1/2-inches overall. Having a 9 7/8-inch clip point blade marked WOODHEAD & HARTLEY / 36 HOWARD STREET / SHEFFIELD. With reclining horse, coffin shape pommel, Composite scales. No scabbard present. Please note: George Woodhead was in business from the late 1840's until 1875; 36 Howard Street in Sheffield, after that period, it became George Woodhead & Sons. This knife is contemporary, marking appears to be 20th cent.
Condition: Good as configured. Blade shows a nice patina with scattered spots. Blade appears to have had edge sharpened, cleaned. Nice toning to scales and pommel.
