Description
Colt Model 1851 Navy Single Action Revolver.Serial no. 197822 [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt] and 37888 [cylinder], .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA. Brass gripstraps. Smooth walnut one-piece grip.
Manufactured in 1866.
Condition: Very good as refinished. Retaining approximately 94-96% finish with thinning to relief edges, scattered handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action functions. Moderately pitted bore. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
