WWI: Purple Heart, Victory Medal, Dog Tags and Insignia Identified to Private Oren J. Greear, 89th Infantry Division.

Includes: 1) Numbered and named Purple Heart with half-wrap brooch. Numbered "16637" on the rim and engraved "Oren J. Greear" on the reverse. Complete with ribbon bar. 2) WWI Victory Medal with clasps for St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne and the Defensive Sector. Full-wrap brooch. 3) Greear's dog tags. Marked "OREN J. GREEAR / U.S.A." on the obverse; with his service number "2.097.591" on the reverse of each. 4) Identity bracelet engraved "OREN GREEAR / 2097591". 5) Silver-washed brass cigarette box with engraved map of German occupation zones and Greear's initials "O.J.G." Most of the silver wash has been rubbed off and the lid displays uniform shallow dents. 6) Leather coin purse containing three U.S. one cent coins and a 10 pfennig coin. 7) Miscellaneous pins including a Sharpshooter badge and assorted VFW pins. Oren J. Greear served in WWI from September 19, 1917 until January 22, 1919. He served in the 353rd Infantry, 89th Division and was wounded in action on October 5, 1918.
