Description
Copy of Colt Sidehammer Full Stock Sporting Rifle.Unserialized, 31-inch round barrel, Approx. 44 caliber. Blued finish. "C" stamp near breech/frame on left side. Case-hardened lever and hammer.
Note: Gun has characteristics of a Colt full sporting gun and Military examples, firing pin not removed [stuck] to check cylinder or firing pin for numbers or markings. See The Book of Colt Firearms by RL Wilson, pages 176-202 for a complete chapter, guide on The Hartford Longarms; titled Chapter IX. Gun is approximately 49-inches overall and weighs approximately 9 1/2 pounds.
Condition: Fine as refinished and configured, retaining most bluing overall. Wooden stock with handling wear, various stress marks and scratches. 3 1/2-inch by 2-inch repair to right side of buttstock. No barrel bands present. Action good, bore good. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
