Description
D-Day Normandy Beach: USS LST-496 [Sunk in Action] 48-Star Flag.3' x 5' 48-star cotton flag, two brass grommets, hoist marked "LST 496" and "Martin's Flag Company Fort Dodge, Iowa. Dettras Flag Products 3 x 5 Ft." The LST-496 participated in the D-Day landings at Normandy Beach and was sunk on June 11, 1944 by a German mine. Sold with Inventory Form of the Flag Heritage Foundation of Lexington, Massachusetts, along with photocopies of photos of the LST-496 and troop landings on D-Day. Ex: Dr. Clarence Rungee Collection.
Condition: Water stains along right side. Vibrant colors.
