Description

"The Moon is quite a nice place to visit..."

Neil Armstrong Autograph Note Signed with Hand-Addressed Envelope, Sent to a Young Girl in 1969. A 5.5" x 4.25" Apollo 11 notecard with the following written on the inside page: "Dear Joanna,/ Thank you for your very nice letter./ The Moon is quite a nice place to/ visit but you have to take all/ your food with you- Our Rocket/ was a Saturn 5 - Best Wishes/ Neil Armstrong". The NASA "Official Business" transmittal envelope is hand-addressed by Armstrong to the recipient in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Quite a rarity as it was written between Armstrong's return from the moon and his leaving on the "Giant Leap" world tour in late September 1969. The notecard is lightly toned and soiled, but the handwritten page is very fine. The front of the envelope is fine but the back shows the effects of a young girl excitedly ripping open a letter from her hero.
