Description

Marlin Model 1893 Lever Action Rifle.

Serial no. 181782 [base of receiver], .30-30 caliber, 26-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation right. Marlin address and patent dates to top of barrel. Blued and case-hardened finish. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Checkered factory hard-rubber buttplate. Manufactured in 1899.
One of the standout features of the Marlin Model 1893 is its solid-top receiver with side ejection. Unlike its contemporaries, such as the Winchester Model 1894, which had a top-ejecting design, the Marlin's side ejection made it easier to mount a scope, a significant advantage for shooters who wanted improved accuracy at longer ranges.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to stock and fore-end. Action good. Strong bore. From the Collection of James Schubert.
