Spanish-American War: West Indies Naval Campaign Medal (Sampson Medal) Awarded to a Crewmember Aboard the USS Yankee.

First issue, 38 mm, pinback, stamped JOHN M. DOTTER. LDS. on the rim with two engagement bars for Cienfuegos and Casilda with the dates of the engagements stamped on the reverse. The reverse of the medal is marked Santiago de Cuba, June 6. The USS Yankee was a steamer fitted out as an auxiliary cruiser. She participated in the battle of Guantanamo Bay and served on blockade duty.

Condition: Excellent.
