Bowie Knife with Twisted Handle.

13 1/2-inches overall [outside of scabbard]. An 8 3/4-inch blade with worn etchings. Etched spine. Twisted bone handle with a wooden pommel cap [appears to have a missing piece]. German nickel feral. Appears to be a mid-19th century composition. A metal mounted velour wrapped scabbard [floral engraved], configured from other edge weapons.
According to consignor notes; Possibly a cut-down Roby marked sword.

Condition: Good as is and configured. Blade cleaned and shortened, pitting present. Handle with cracks and loss. Scabbard with worn/dried velour material, mountings with moderate to heavy wear. Collection of a Southern Gentleman.
