Description

Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver.

Serial no. 81820 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .45 caliber, approximately 5 1/4-inch barrel with fixed front sight [replaced] and frame notch rear sight. Top of barrel address reads COLT'S P.T. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT U.S.A. Currently a nickel-plated finish. Nice engraving throughout, resembles a factory pattern [not verified]. Frame with three-line, three-date patent. Smooth replacement grips which flare at the bottom. Bottom of grips on gripstrap crudely marked JB and ED. Manufactured in 1882. Gun has a great cowboy look to it, but it needs some help.

Condition: Very good as reconfigured and refinished; barrel appears to have been cut down as well. Current finish with scattered heavy signs of pitting, has been cleaned/buffed as well. Loading gate altered. Gun overall with heavy handling wear. Marred screws. Action ok. Lightly pitted bore.
