George Wostenholm & Son IXL "Spearpoint" Bowie Knife.

Having a 11 1/2-inch spearpoint blade. Ricasso marked: G. WOSTENHOLM & SON / WASHINGTON WORKS / NONE ARE GENUINE BUT THOSE / MARKED IXL. Nickel-silver double guard. Hardwood grip panels held by four pins. Escutcheon poorly engraved 1860. 16 5/8-inches in overall length. Circa 1850-1860.

Condition: Good. Overall showing signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Blade cleaned. Scuffs and scratches present to handle. Toning to furniture. Collection of a Southern Gentleman.
